Continuous Wave (CW) laser cleaners emit a constant, non-stop beam of laser energy rather than short bursts like a pulse laser. This more aggresive delivery method relies on thermal ablation to superheat dirt, rust, or surface coatings until they vaporize or peel off instantly.
More heat can be transfered in the part being cleaned, so they are more suited for use on thick walled parts or items with a larger mass that can dissipate the heat more effectively. Depending on the machine settings and substrate the beam can remove rust or a surface coating and leave behind a textured finish on the surface of part.
They are typically used for
- Rust removal
- Paint and Surface coating removal
- Cleaning (removal of oil, soot, stain and algae and other suface build up)
- Surface preparation (texturing or keying of a surface prior to coating
The CW machines are typically water cooled to allow for greater duty cycles and are larger units. Power requirements vary depending on the output power of the unit but most CW cleaners require 3 phase and up to 60 amp curcuits so are typicaly aimed for industrial use.
We offer the machine with two types of scanning heads as listed below:
Single Axis: Single straight line beam profile
Dual Axis : Muliple beam profiles
